Pros

PowerPlan is around 300 people and has grown a lot over the last couple of years. It has recently gotten a new CEO as well as new owners and there is a lot of excitement about new opportunities and growth and anyone coming in now is primed to take advantage of that. -Really smart and hard working people that truly care about each other. -Management team is young and very communicative. Lots of transparency on initiatives, numbers and a willingness to address any question or concern. -Great pay and generous bonus structure -Great benefits - I pay nothing for full health, dental and vision coverage as well as 4% 401k match, long and short term disability. Free bagels every Friday, tons of free snacks and drinks. Good office location and open working layout. -Very collaborative working environment across departments. -You learn a lot of technical and functional skills. Most consulting roles only let you get functional exposure, but the technical side here is very useful anywhere you go. Some of the other reviews have mentioned how PowerBuilder is so outdated and not helpful. I'll agree that PowerBuilder is old, but the SQL, Database, Integration, ERP & EAM and general technical exposure you get is applicable in a lot of places and very valuable. -While PowerPlan doesn't currently pay for any MBAs, the handful of people that have gone to get them have all gone to top school.... MIT, Booth, Darden, UCLA to name a few which means you are getting valuable experience if you want that path. Definitely not needed here. -Travel is fantastic if you are open to it. $90/day food guidance and free vacations with points and flex travel. -With smaller project teams you get lots of client exposure and a lot of responsibility quickly. You can lead work streams or even whole projects within a year or two. Also you can get face time with C-level and other senior management of these large fortune 500 companies which is great

Cons

-You do work hard (9-11 hour days typically) and at times have to take on numerous roles (like fixing some base code or helping do some of the PM piece of the projects). Luckily you are rewarded well for it. -We need to work a lot more on building out better training and resources for people in the 2-4 year tenure range. The first two years has a ton of stuff to help, but then it gets much harder in terms of development and learning outside of your actual project.

Pros

Good benefits and salary to start your career, especially for new college graduates.

Cons

It requires a lot of travel, basically every week. Technology is outdated, but has been improving over the past year...but is still lacking a lot compared to other software companies. No option on choosing the type of projects...once you're skilled at a certain module, you are most likely stuck with doing the same type of projects over and over again with little opportunity to expand your knowledge of other modules.
