Pros

As an employee who has been here for 3 months, I couldn't be happier. This environment is unsurpassed. The employees are valued and treated so well. The people are friendly and super-smart. FABULOUS benefits. Amazing culture. Office politics are non-existent. I'm so happy to be here.

Cons

Literally none that I see

Pros

The company culture is truly amazing. Everyone is extremely bright and motivated and collaborates without any of the politics you see or hear about at other companies. The product truly adds a ton of value for our customers and there are no real competitors who can do what we do which makes the company and business model very strong. Over the last year there has been a big push to make everyone feel valued as an employee and there are tons of fun company wide and department wide events and perks that truly make working at PowerPlan a lot of fun. I can talk to my direct manager about anything and the CEO himself is very transparent and truly cares about everyone here and will frequently walk the halls and see how people are doing. Our customers love us which is not something most software companies can say and it makes projects that much more enjoyable. Not to mention they pay very well and have a very generous bonus structure if you work hard and prove your worth. Promotions are based on ability and results and there is ample room to take on as much responsibility as you want to handle. Myself and others took lead roles on big projects in less than 2 years. The work is challenging and is not for people who want a normal 9-5 job or are not interested in doing any technical work. It is a software company so you should be ready to dig into the software (SQL).

Cons

As with any growing company, there is constant review of our internal systems such as document management systems which can use a lot of improvement. Management has realized this and is looking for alternatives but sometimes it is painful during the transition period. A year ago there were far fewer employee recognition programs and team events, but that has changed drastically in the past year which has made working for PowerPlan go from good to great.

Pros

Most of the people are nice and easy to work with. Compensation is average to above average and healthcare is free.

Cons

Product is outdated. It's based around PowerBuilder, which hardly anyone uses anymore, and the front end of the application is not friendly to end users. Lots of turnover this year. Lots of travel is required unless you live in Atlanta and can find an opportunity in the office. Management is spotty and young.
