A constant issue with staffing. I understand this is a worldwide issue, but I have never heard of a facility allowing one CNA to 40 patients per unit. When there is one CNA to that many patients, it's impossible to get everyone's needs met. Management would know about the poor working environment and would do absolutely nothing to help. The only time I ever saw any management on the floor was when the state surveyors came, that week was the most interaction I ever had with any of them. You can go to them and voice your complaints and concerns, but it is really a waste of your time. Not to mention, for the terrible conditions, the pay is terrible. They care more about temp agency CNA's contracted than their actual full time staff! Not to mention the fact that nothing is ever stocked, always running out of supplies! Safe your time and mental energy and put your care giving abilities to a company that cares about you!
