Pros

I am not there anymore

Cons

Project Management team is absolutely horrible, embarrassing excuse for the department. They are so bad at their jobs and shift blame on to other teams when they completely mess up. Instead of making process run more smoothly, they are a cog in the wheel, but think they are the most important people who ever existed. They are also extremely hostile. It's from both their leaders and the general team, in which they snap at people in very unprofessional outbursts that magnify the already dysfunctional work environment. It'd be one thing to put up with a sweatshop labor environment, but to deal with this on top of it. I would never work with these people again, they're miserable. Leadership is useless. They do nothing except demand ridiculous results from people under them while providing no support. They make promises they don't keep and basically contribute nothing meaningful (that's positive) to any situation. There are a lot of positive reviews on here posted by HR to try to balance out the real ones. The turnover is very high for a reason.

Pros

Some of the employees are exceptionally awesome people, especially the receptionist. They pay a lot and the benefits are pretty good. Sometimes there's free food and booze.

Cons

There's no onboarding or training process for new employees since everyone is already so overburdened with their workloads. There's way too much unnecessary stress due to inefficiency, disorganization, and wastefulness. No project is ever precise or overly effective, and trying to get anything done incites World War III on most teams due to clashing personalities. There's essentially no work/life balance, and there are several employees that are very gossipy and often just mean for no good reason, which drives down morale. Everyone there seemed perpetually miserable and it was rare that anyone was NOT complaining about their frustrations. There are occasional training sessions, but they're often useless. There's no mentorship from management, and managers mostly complain about their direct reports instead of helping them grow in their careers. There are lots of unfounded big ego's.

Pros

The folks tat work at Precision Effect are a lot of fun to work with. Lots of energy, creativity, and hard work. Boston is a wonderful city to live in and I never plan to leave it! The clients and projects are very interesting as well

Cons

The agency, at the end of the day, is no different than the majority of other pharma advertising agencies. They do the same types of deliverables with little innovation. Their new offices are in a building which is in in a sketchy part of town. Lots of cubicles with people housed like cattle. Noise, noise, noise, You have to pass homeless people and drug dealers to get into the office. Some of the top management are too controlling. While Precision Effect can draw on some of their sister agencies for scientific help, their "Medical Department" is very weak and led by person with an MA in English! This does not inspire scientific/medical credibility in the least. None of their Boston-based medical writers have advanced scientific degrees (PhD, PharmD, MD, DO). All in all, the company is a mirror image of a million other pharma advertising. They have grown in size, but not in innovative ideas. This is very surprising given the fact that Boston is full of highly trained docs and scientists.
