Reagan era Business

Pros

It's a machinist job, they don't just contract with Boeing. It's four 10's or three 12's, which is always nice.

Cons

Reactionary and ineffectual management, zero communication between higher ups, and any failings of the business are ultimately paid for by the workers, not the incompetent legacy office crew. Most seem to be old McDonald's execs or something, preferring the rotating door style of employment, rather than investing in people who already know what they're doing. Breaks are only ten minutes, which is ridiculous. We get 16 "Flex Hours" every year rather than sick days, which is obviously the bare minimum they needed to avoid giving us extra time off. That's not even two shifts, which is pretty offensive and demeaning. You get two weeks of vacation for the first four years. Out of 52 weeks a year. The VP thought we were "doing a lot better" after we put paint on the ground, showing the priority is to Look like a business that knows what they're doing, rather than actually knowing what they're doing. While old employees get laid off and old machines are kept together with duct tape and bailing wire, paint and branded signage are a higher priority in the budget. Warren Buffett admitted he payed way too much for this raggedy company. Also the GM gets switched out every six months, just rich people passing money around. Tl;dr it's a non-innovative corporate hellscape that exists only well enough to buy rich people more stuff. It's a job, but probably not a future.

Terrible place

Business Outlook

Pros

The toxic culture makes it a place to develop yourself to be more adaptable in your career.

Cons

Terrible place to work long term. Specifically for finance and accounting, they sell you a pipedream to become a Controller. Despite the sense of prestige and higher salary, they are the most harassed individuals throughout the company by all leaders. Plus, most sites turn over controllers frequently, and in many cases, they can go through 2-3 in a year, dropped like flies.

CEO is a tyrant

Pros

quarterly bonuses and hard working people

Cons

Toxic leadership that trickles down to high level managers to employees. Lack of leadership and too many expectations without resource and support. Leading with fear, flying around in a company jet, belittling and verbally assaulting people. It was pretty crazy.
