Diet Office Good But Other Departments Will Be Awful
Pros
Manager will have your back at all times, your coworkers will be like family to you, everyone is extremely positive and supportive of each other now that all the bad apples have left, and they stick together through the bad times. I have never worked with a more caring group of people. Everyone there really cares about the patients and wants to do right by them and I’ve never seen that anywhere else I’ve worked. It’s truly a great place to work. You do not have to take abuse from callers and any staff members being unprofessional will be dealt with by their managers. Your accomplishments will be recognized here. I think that’s amazing.
Cons
The nurses WILL treat you terribly: especially MVH BHU and all the nurses who call from UVMC. Upper management enables this by treating nursing like royalty and dietary like crap. Bonuses are structured so that impoverished employees never see them. The time off system is BS and was clearly invented by a sadist who was spiraling into a psychotic break. The same person definitely invented the attendance system. If you get sick often or have car trouble or are not the spouse of a wealthy person DO NOT WORK FOR PREMIER. Tardies and absences take a full year to fall off. Go to Kettering. If you had a single “occurrence” (a single tardy, absence, or write-up) you did not get a bonus this year. One of the supervisors is incredibly loud as well and has a tendency toward micromanagement that needs to be curbed. He’s also got kind of a double-standard going where if he does something that’s generally acceptable it’s fine, but you do it and he doesn’t like it, shame on you.
