Pros

Quick Advancement up the chain if you stay long enough-that is because no one wants to work there.

Cons

Horrible 401 (k) plan. Medical benefits require you to use Prime Physicians only. If you want to see a specialist or your current doctor outside of Prime you have to have a Prime Doctor authorize it, but it will be denied. Since Prime acquires hospitals, most Prime physicians aren't even in their network leaving you very little options for healthcare treatment. The PTO accrual is non competitive. In fact, a Recruiting Manager confirmed to me they are not allowed to discuss PTO plan during recruitment process because it will hinder them from closing candidates to join-Flag #1 Dishonesty. Everything at Prime is paper driven. Want to change to change your address online? You still need to fill out a form to prove that what you submitted online is accurate. When hired, they try to force you to sign a meal waiver form so that you can waive your meal breaks and work it and have the time unpaid. Another way to cheat the employee. When Prime purchases a facility, they take away the shift premiums for clinical staff, which reduces wages by $100's of dollars for employees. They will also wipe away current PTO plans and make you start at zero accrual with the Prime plan. It will take you close to a year just to get a week's vacation time. Prime also RIFs several times a year and then re-hires at lower wages and they don't pay severance. They will honor your current pay rate at the time they purchase your facility but once you change positions your subject to being paid at the Prime rate which is significantly lower than market rate. Due to the fact that everything with Prime is paper driven (they don't invest in technology because it costs $$), you spend hours a day processing paper-you're buried in paper. The hours you work are beyond insane. You can work 60-70 hours a week and still not be caught up and there is no remote work. Turnover rate is high. It's a family-owned company so it's all about the money. They spend as little as possible to line their own pockets. If you change positions or facilities, they make you go through the whole onboarding process all over again, including new hire paperwork, which is inefficient and a waste of money. If you leave the company, they won't send you a copy of your last paystub unless you sign a waiver form, which is stupid- it's your paystub. They also won't publish or distribute any company policies as they want to keep everything from the employee. If you ask HR for a copy of a policy or procedure, even on simple things like vacation policy, they are not allowed to share it with you per corporate policy.

Pros

Friendly staff in my department, but we have never struggled with that. Everyone gets along well with other departments.

Cons

Horrible transition from Ascension to Prime. I have been at my facility through numerous buy-outs and this one was FAR WORSE. This company is EVIL and only cares about making money, Coming in and firing staff who have been there for 20+ years with no severance is disgusting. They knew what they were doing by forcing employees to re-apply for their jobs. The benefits are awful, making a promise that employees can continue to see out-of-network providers then denying all requests is foul. The compensation ontop of that is awful. Do you not want to retain any employees? because with these horrible benefits that are offered no one would willingly apply to a prime facility.
