Pros

Faculty are dedicated to helping their students succeed. There are many excellent and creative professors struggling against great odds to create a dynamic learning environment.

Cons

Large portions of the College are totally mismanaged. With no visionary leadership, the College nevertheless has a very hierarchical structure. Staff with knowledge are handcuffed, while employees with mediocre skills and poor attitudes are rewarded. Tech services is a comedy of errors. Administration always forgets the College's core mission.

Pros

Good pay for the job I did and the amount of work expected of me. Got to interact with the students and staff of all levels.

Cons

This probably isn't typical of the entire PGCC but in the library, workers are not real enjoyable. They seemed to come off as snobbish. No real training. Little to no advancement opportunities. Fellow co-worker was there for 5 years before they offered her a full-time position.

Students were polite and did their best under difficult circumstances. Many colleagues were professional, kind, and knowledgeable.

Cons

Although work was arranged and classes were taught, salaries were slow in being distributed. Payroll was notoriously incorrect and cavalier about issuing payments. Poor communication between so-called upper management and middle management.
