      Opportunities for varied work experiences Benefits Pension (old school) Community engagement

      Cons

      Salary was always lowest in the area. Played salary compensation games with the local hospitals. Started the seemingly almost-annual restructuring model - getting rid of highly paid, competent individuals and replacing with less experienced lower paid people resulting in immature decision making. Of course not right away, that would be obvious. Call it restructuring then within 2 years hire new people into slightly relabeled positions doing the same/similar work at a lower cost.

      Pros

      Coworkers are great people. They get the work done. They are generally kind and good people that I would want to care for me.

      Cons

      The disconnect between the C-Suite/Executive leaders and the people on the ground that actually do the work at Prisma is nothing short of breathtaking. They are so burdened with expanding their personal wallets and patting each other on the back, that they aren't pausing to listen to the employees (even managers and directors).

      Pros

      I was lucky enough to have started with Greenville Memorial Hospital which then evolved into Greenville Health System back in the early 90's. That's when it was a wonderful place to work. I worked for this company for 27 years.

      Cons

      Greenville Health System merged and became what is now Prisma Health. The merge started the dehumanization of Greenville Health System. The "feeling of being connected and appreciated" ended abruptly. Micromanagement became the new normal. Then employees started being treated like a "number" instead of a person. The negative changes crushed all that the previous administration's had built the foundation on.
