Pros

A lot of software engineering work keeps you busy while giving you a diverse set of experiences in terms of hardware and software stacks in various projects.

Cons

Pro-Active's focus is 90 on manufacturing of PCBs and boards, 10 engineering. You are a contractor; there is little time for recreational learning or research and development. You are being paid on your clients dime essentially; the way software contracts are structured clearly display a lack of understanding of software engineering/coding workflows -- you better not have any bugs or your project will cost the company money. There is always a looming time pressure. Software engineering also seems like a very low priority to upper management despite it being the backbone of every project -- getting software tools you need like IDE's or better computers is like pulling teeth. There is little to no opportunity for employee growth or career advancements. Just as well, the pay is not very competitive. Part of this is because upper management is trying to rapidly expand the company too fast, trying to invest money in infrastructure rather than the employees.

Pros

I enjoy working for Pro-Active Engineering and keep busy so the days go by fast. Employees help one another out and work together as a team to achieve the same goals. They provide employees with great benefits, vacation, and have a great family environment. Monthly company meetings keep everyone informed on the progress of the company as well as taking time to acknowledge birthdays, anniversaries and also Employee of the Week. The employees are definitely contributing everyday to helping Pro-Active pursue perfection.

Cons

Higher compensation - but isn't that a complaint everyone has?

Pros

Clean, nice coworkers, room for advancement , continually growing company, work with cutting edge technology, encourage a family culture (monthly meetings that they provide the lunch, themed celebrations, summer picnic, holiday party), open door policy for any concerns and list could go on and on. Benefits 401k, medical and dental insurance, life insurance, short and long term disability, generous vacation and sick time, paid holidays and the core hours are 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.

Cons

Would like to get a higher wage but then again who doesn't. : ) Would like less drama amongst employees (but we are all working together for 8 hours a day so there are bound to be some conflicts). But the way we react is the key.
