Pros

ProMedica has a great atmosphere, great coworkers, and is very active in the community. They provide a lot of extras as far as discounts for zoo, walleye games, etc. to give you something to do with your friends and family. The health benefits are good as well.

Cons

Pay is on the low side in comparison to other companies. Also, depending on the department you are in it can be difficult to advance in the company.

Pros

Close to home. Almost competitive pay, could use a yearly raise or bonus. Community involvement is great! I am very impressed.

Cons

Overworked. Very short staffed. Too many employees still working that are incompetent. Please terminate or suspend employees that repeatedly do wrong. We need the "A" team if we are expected to maintain this patient load. We have employees in our department who continue to kiss managements butt So they don't get written up. Management needs to get a backbone! Poor employees are keeping the department moral down.

Pros

Short notice pay is good but you'll most likely float to a unit that you don't like and the work will be hard. Floats get "dumped on" with patients the regular staff don't have the patience for anymore. Cafeteria is good during the day sucks on nights. In patient pharmacy blows. Expect to call them multiple times for your patients throughout the shift. Tuition reimbursement is great. Other benefits suck. You get one bonus at the beginning of the year worth $500 if the hospitals meet certain expectations and if you're full time. Part time employees get less. That $500 gets taxed like no other... 1% raise yearly.

Cons

Pay is low. Very low. If you think it's great it's because you didn't do your research and see what others are paying in the area. When I say area I mean dab into what Michigan hospitals pay it might be worth the drive. Health insurance doesn't cover mercy physicians anymore. 401k is not great either. They give 1:1 up to 3% through T. Rowe Price. You are fully vested after 5 years. RNs start at $25.50 and get a whopping $1 on nights. When the government places you at a 25% tax bracket at that hourly wage your after tax salary is pretty low for the hard work you put in. Do your research...
