Pros

Informational Interviews - PSG sets up these interviews to provide opportunities for networking and to acquire information about the profession. Dedication of agents - very hands on, strong communication and determined to find you a job that is a good fit for you and the hiring company.

Cons

Conflict of interest when sending more than one applicant to fill the same position.

Pros

I worked for PSG for three years. In that relatively short period of time, I was promoted and given multiple stretch opportunities that continued to challenge and grow my skillset. I had unlimited access to senior management, and was given autonomy and support to handle a lot of high-level situations with PSG clients. I am a much stronger business professional because of my time spent there. Many people talk about the free lunch on Fridays or other ancillary benefits, but I would have to say that the biggest benefit of working at PSG is the investment they make in each employee. The amount of training and development is amazing. PSG runs a Management Training program which is similar to an MBA course (complete with syllabus and all). The president of PSG also has a quarterly meeting with all staff members on the status of the company, changes being made, or any meaningful updates, so communication is clear. Senior management sits out on the main floor and is always available to discuss issues or ask questions. I met a lot of great people. Many of my internal co-workers are still some of my very good friends and/or mentors. I also made many industry contacts outside of PSG that I continue to stay in touch with to build my professional network; which has paid dividends. Senior management is fair, there is transparency about performance and compensation gets better over time. (When you’ve taken on enough responsibility to warrant it). I am now in a Corporate HR position and I call on PSG to help me with my hiring needs, both on the temporary and direct hire side. I highly recommend anyone who wants to build their resume, enhance their professional maturity, sharpen their time management skills and increase their business contacts to give PSG a try.

Cons

The hours are somewhat long (8am-6pm on most days), the pace is fast and there is a lot of visibility, so it is not an environment for people who don’t like to work. Truants need not apply.
