      Had a good time starting a planning division. Found that engineers need more education about planning ethics and roles.

      Pros

      PEC is a professional engineering organization with a good profit-sharing stock program for those in the licensed professions. They are open minded about urban planning activities and want to open up the planning market and incorporate planning services to their roster of engineering services.

      Cons

      As a planner supervised by engineers, I feel there is a learning curve on the part of management as to what planners are expected to do as a profession (responsibilities to the profession and to the community). There are some conflicts between the engineering and planning ethics requirements for professionals. The company was not equipped to handle planning requests due to a lack of a fully equipped planning division.
