Hard But Rewarding

Pros

The pay is fair, and the work-from-home aspect was really convenient. The benefits were also exceptional.

Cons

Typical corporate micromanagement on whether or not employees meet their metrics, and it is an extremely confrontation-based job, not for the anxious or those without a thick skin.

Pros

Little to nothing when it comes to pros. You get PTO every check when you first get hired.

Cons

Oh man where to start??? Training is about over a month long which is cool until you start taking calls. The customers are by far the worst in any industry I’ve been in. Just about every person calling in will have an attitude and doesn’t care to listen to you. Not to mention those calls WILL BE back to back. It’s mundane work but hey it’s customer service what can you expect. They tell you that you can’t go anywhere for a year when you’re first hired which is understandable. They initially fill your head with the “endless opportunities” available in the company but really they want you to remain in CRM. They will have you fill out career preference forms to make it seem as if you have options and control over your career advancement but if a department is short staffed you will be “voluntold” to go there. Meaning that you will either be forced to go to a department. It comes with a raise depending on the jump. Either a dollar or 2. Most people will be forced to take an insurance licensing test to be able to sell policies and service them. They also have a retention team which is pretty much dedicated to butt kissing customers to stay at the company and the only difference from that department to services is that you have a license to “do more for the customer” when in reality you’re just being made redundant. After a certain point everybody starts to reinforce the idea of becoming coaches, supervisors, managers or trainers but everyone doesn’t want that. Most people want to get out of CRM to pursue other avenues like business operations but you rarely receive support unless your goals are CRM related and you’re a favorite of a supervisor. Not to mention even if you’re forced into a new role you can’t apply or be recommended for other jobs unless you’ve been in your role for 6-12 months. So they will waste your time because they needed bodies to fill in spaces. Maybe this is why they always become short staffed at this point. They screw people over.
