Small company looking to grow and go public, employees take the hits

Pros

If you like living in Draper it's a nice area. Pretty good rate of pay for entry level. The company is in a sweet spot in its market right now so growth is possible.

Cons

I worked at this company for 2 years. When I started the small business, every employee goes noticed, was inviting and encouraging. Since pushing to go public the company has a hard time keeping up with the growth - and it shows. People are put in management positions who are not qualified, lack skills in true leadership and how to treat their employees. It's a top heavy company and if you're buddies with the boss, you'll likely get promoted. Employees are not treated like people, rather they are monitored and attacked if they get up from their seats for too long. Good work goes unnoticed. The founders/owners are nice guys who have been overshadowed by the business that came in to help go public.

Supportive people and meaningful work

Pros

What stands out most is the people — genuinely supportive, collaborative, and committed to doing good work. Leadership is accessible, open to feedback, and makes an effort to communicate with care. I appreciate the flexibility, the trust, and the space to grow. There’s a real focus on listening and improving, and you can feel that in the day-to-day interactions.

Cons

Like any company that’s evolving, there are periods of transition and adjustment. It isn’t always easy, but the intent behind decisions is communicated thoughtfully, and teams do a good job supporting each other through change.
