Pros

I joined Prometheus 6 years ago and haven't looked back. Prometheus is a family owned company , who truly lives by their values, Good Living for the Greater Good, they value people as their most valuable asset. Our owner Jackie, believes in giving back to the local communities and beyond. Every Promethean (employee) receives 100% paid healthcare for themselves and their immediate family. Our Sr. VP of Operations, Kellie M, is the most supportive, understanding Executive I have ever worked with and leads with her whole heart (you will even see her in the office assisting in times of need) . Competitive salary, bonus potential, healthy work/life balance, room for advancement and so much more !

Cons

There really is nothing to note here, it's The Best Company and Best place to work in the Silicon Valley!

Pros

1 Full paid benefits. 2 401K. 3 Some perks. 4 Bonus but now have been divided to twice a year. 5 Some good people to work with. 6 Housing discounts. 7 Tuition reimbursement.

Cons

1 Housing discounts are not the greatest based on prices around the area, you can rent an independent place at the same price as the discounted housing offered by the company. 2 401K is matched but only 50%, you are fully vested at 4 years with the company, some other companies match 100%. 3 Recognition runs like the mafia, only the circle of friends get constant recognition and promotions, it doesn't really matter if the rest of the company knows that the recognition or the promotion wasn't deserved or has been given as a favor, the hard workers who really deserve it are often left behind and neglected. If you want to become someone in the company you need to know the right people and constantly kiss the bottom line if you know what I mean or become someone's favorite. 4 This part gets me sad. The company constantly preaches that the employees are number one and treated equal but their actions speak otherwise. When a new field employee gets hired they do an news letter recognizing the new employee stating their name and position together with other employees and that's it but when someone at corporate gets hired with a PHD or BA or other titles, a company wide email is sent welcoming the new employee asking everyone to welcome him/her making the field employee feel unimportant or less of a human being than the corporate employee, sad. 5 This one is really bad, I don't know how or why but bullies are on a rampage in the company, the bullies constantly attack other employees that often are minorities and can't defend themselves which makes me think that the race card is played, the bullies hide behind upper management and HR, HR makes sure the bullying is justified and constantly cover for the bully which feels encouraged to do more bullying because someone has their back, they even cover for all kinds of harassment and no one does nothing.

Thank you for your honest feedback and we are so sorry to hear about your experience. We are committed to providing a workplace that is safe and free of unlawful discrimination and harassment and do not tolerate bullying of any kind. If you are open to chatting with us, we would appreciate that so we can better understand your experience and address your concerns. Our goal is for Prometheans to feel comfortable speaking with HR, but we understand that there may be times when Prometheans feel more comfortable speaking with a third party. As a result, we provide a toll-free hotline for employees to speak honestly and openly about Promethean related issues. We want all our Prometheans to feel welcome and HOME at work and it is our goal to make sure all voices are heard.

They under pay and exploit their workers

Pros

- You get to wear jeans and semi-casual clothes to work - Kaiser Permanente as a health care option - The branding is cute - Housing discount

Cons

Property management groups notoriously underpay their employees with commission structure in mind. Prometheus, however, takes it one step further. They cut your wages for the commission (only $100 per lease, many PMC are doing percentages of the base rent, equaling far more than $100 a lease), AND they cut your wage again in the name of "free health care." How is it free if you're cutting my hourly rate for the health care coverage? They always promise that they are revisiting the wages, but they are still consistently the lowest paying PMC in the area. Many other PMC's are now offering the same benefits as Prometheus AND they aren't cutting their employee wages. On top of all of that, I haven't taken a state mandated 10-minute break since beginning here, because they love to understaff their teams. I go into each day not knowing if I will be able to even take my lunch break in its entirety, because you are expected to have your life revolve around this job. As a Neighbor Ambassador, you can expect to do the job of leasing, resident relations, maintenance, and more, and still get told you're being paid what you deserve. Prometheus is also introducing this concept of "one team," which is another way of saying they are reducing staffing drastically, spreading people a lot thinner, without increasing the base wages.

Hi there. First, thank you for sharing your Promethean experience. Secondly, know that everything we are about to share is not intended to be lip service but truly comes from a place of wanting to get it right. Your feedback is incredibly important to us, and we appreciate knowing what is not working for you. Along with our annual Engagement survey, we hold peer Focus Groups and Roundtables and encourage our Prometheans to talk with their managers about important topics. We are glad to hear that you feel comfortable going to your manager with any concerns, even if we may not have a ready solution. This is a unique period in our history and industry, and how we operate has been changing over the last 18 months. We hope to see a stabilization soon so we can right-size our teams, as running slim is not how we typically operate. We hear your frustrations with OneTeam, and trust us when we say our Operations team is actively looking into these concerns. You are correct that Prometheus offers 100% employer-paid Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage for Prometheans and their dependents. However, during this pandemic we have not issued any pay cuts. In fact, pay was increased for our Field Prometheans, and we kept the semi-annual bonus structure intact. Not letting go of a single Promethean due to the pandemic is a victory we are incredibly proud of too. It is highly concerning that you have not been allowed to or encouraged to take proper breaks throughout the day. Would you be willing to reach out directly to Promethean Services? We need to know more before we can make this right.
