      Pros

      -Future market opportunities due to impending market regulation. I feel with the financial crisis, top management is focused on creating opportunities leveraging our expertise in these areas. -Positive atmosphere. I work with high-quality, highly competent people which make my job much more fulfilling. -Structured environment/methodologies

      Cons

      -Travel. However, I enjoy the per diems and various other benefits of traveling. -Potential to perform meaningless work. On some jobs, in order to stay "chargeable" which positively affects many management and personal metrics, the work can sometimes be meaningless.

      Pros

      It is a great place to start a career. You will learn a lot even as a Consultant and with the right mentor or manager you will be able to progress your career well. As always consulting depends on the project you're worknig on so attitude varies from time to time. The security practice is doing well in the east coast and it seems to be the place to be in if you want to succeed. Also, paid time off is another great benefit at Protiviti. You start out with 20 days off which is pretty good compared to industry.

      Cons

      One of the biggest downside of Protiviti is compensation and benefits. I have complained about it for 3 years now nothing has changed. Protiviti is struggling to diversify their portfolio now that SOX work is declining. Also, structure in the Vienna, VA office is all kinds of messed up. There is substantial amount of upper management compared to consultants and senior consultants. You will end up doing consultant work on projects. Also, budget hours for some reviews seem to be low so you will struggle with maintaining budget and time as well. Lastly, communication from upper management is weak. There has been incidents where communication would have been nice regarding strategy of the company.
