Pros

Diverse population of patients which leads to getting a lot of experience in many areas. Great co-workers- I love the staff at St Mary's. Last manager encouraged the staff to come up with suggestions and solutions to some common complaints. Education department is superb!

Cons

A little too regimented with work. . Discharge and admission rate is sometimes overwhelmingly fast. Managers have a high turnover rate. Current RN staff is primarily new-grads with little to no experience.

Pros

Great co-workers. Most were really sharp and eager to assist. I really believe in the overall mission of the health system. Interaction with the Sister's and understanding what they had accomplished was great. Overall compensation was good. Lots of training opportunities and good retirement benefits.

Cons

Management has no clue what they are doing. Direction changes and failed implementations are par for the course. The new CIO is clueless on how to run an organization.

Pros

The company as a whole has made a HUGE change and it encourages all employees to participate in a team effort. Their purpose has become more relevant to healthcare and has spent money and time to improve its infrastucture and functionality, so that it is a prominent name in healthcare.

Cons

Management still has some things to improve on. The opportunities are still limited and promotional options are lacking. Policies need to be improvised. Some depts. need some help with improving employee satisfaction, which has to do with certain management personnel, who don't have the management skills necessary to perform the job.
