Pros

Poor management would not recommend

Cons

Working at Publix was stressful and disappointing. There is little to no flexibility with scheduling, even for part-time employees. Requests for specific days off are often ignored, and there is no real work-life balance. Management shows clear favoritism, giving the best shifts and opportunities to a select few while others are constantly overworked and overlooked. The workload is heavy, expectations are unrealistic, and the store is often short-staffed. Instead of support, you’re met with micromanagement and blame. Communication is poor, and upper management rarely listens to staff concerns. The environment can feel toxic, especially when favoritism creates tension between coworkers. While the pay and benefits might seem decent at first, the overall culture makes it hard to stay. Morale is low, turnover is high, and it feels like management cares more about appearances than their employees’ well-being. I wouldn’t recommend working here unless you’re desperate for a paycheck and don’t mind sacrificing your mental health.

Pros

Benefits, great employee stock plan, good pay after some time worth the company

Cons

Working in the bakery is like signing your life away—weekends, namely, Saturdays are brutal, with little to no support from your store manager or corporate to implement ways to improve flow in the way the department is run

Pros

Pay and benefits are okay but barely enough to live on as a single adult working full time just to pay for the cost of living

Cons

Poor, incompetent managers Management plays favorites Many hard workers overlooked for promotions that are given to people with less or even no experience The Publix culture is gone- they still claim it, but it's a bunch of lies to lure you in. There is absolutely no work life balance. As a full timer that has put in over 16byears with the company, I have different shifts every day and every week. Management acts as if they are superior to everyone else and is constantly threatening to write people up over every minor little thing, from not smiling or receiving a hug from someone when you were crying over a lost loved one. You can easily get promoted right off the street fi you know someone, right ahead dof the people who have been dedicating themselves for years to get that position, but if you're a good worker they will only use and abuse you as long asthry can and as far as you let them
