Pros

My department managers made us take our breaks, and if we didn't take them, we were allowed to go home an hour early. You get to work with cake and pastries all day, which is wonderful! I felt adequately trained for everything I did while I was there.

Cons

I would often work over my shift by an hour, or not be able to take a break due to staffing issues. While our products jumped in price, due to COVID, supply chain, and all that jazz, workers didn't see a cent in raises. My store managers really sucked. Like really really sucked. Everyone in their respective departments would be breaking their backs to get through the day, and my store manager would lie on the floor of her office and take naps. Sometimes for two hours.

Not great

Pros

It was fun getting to meet new people (customers and coworkers). I really formed a bond with a few people that I worked with there and had some really good conversations. You get benefits after working there for a few years. They also can help pay for your college classes.

Cons

You are always on your feet. You can barely even stop to take a drink of water without a manager telling you to do better. Bringing in carts can be a bit of a hassle, especially in the summer when the temperatures rise to 101 at its peak. On top of that they usually just make the minors bring in all the carts. The minors are essentially the managers frustration outlet as they are always getting yelled at for no reason and being told to do way more than everyone else. And even though they pretty much carry the whole front service clerk area, they are only payed about $10.50 an hour. I used to think that it was a good job opportunity for teens since they hire so young but now I see that they hire young to exploit minors for cheap work. I would not recommend this job to anyone unless they really had no where else to go.

They don’t care about great employees

Pros

Overtime- if you want time and a half it’s great

Cons

They don’t t care about good workers. They love to say they’re working on issues but they’re aren’t. It’s horrible. Everyday you come in and there’s an issue. They don’t want to pay their best people more and expect you to be okay with below average workers, picking up their slack and be satisfied with what you make while having a smile on your face. Very fed up. You can’t transfer unless they are fully staffed and trained which will never happen because management is a joke and can’t hire for crap. It’s like they opted to hire tax write offs. I legit had a store manger tell me he rather have a bunch of average workers rather than a few excellent workers. Yeah let’s see how that works when your average people don’t show up for their shifts and can’t even do the task they’re supposed too.
