      Good Place to work if you have the right manager!

      Pros

      I worked for Winn-Dixie 11 years, Publix is way better. Higher pay than others. Great Benefits. Excellent job for someone with no degree to make decent money.If your in the right store with the right manager you are set.

      Cons

      My department does not have that many associates, and are too cheap to higher trained meat cutter. So we are short on help and asking my meat manager for time off is as painful as going to the dentist. But it depends who you work for. Getting full time is almost impossible. My wife has tried for two years with promises and no luck. Again, it just depends if your at the right store at the right time and who your manager is.

      Pros

      Salary, benefits, opportunity. Publix has stayed true to the ideals of its founder, George Jenkins, for the most part. The people you work with become like your second family.

      Cons

      IPLH. We are almost IPLHing ourselves out of the customer service business. Corporate management is slow to respond to changing demographics. Corporate is very slow to listen to retail, but retail is usually right most of the time.

      Pros

      pay is decent. Uniforms provided.they will schedule within your availability.close to home. great customer service.

      Cons

      for part times most of us do not get consistant good hours.sometimes you might get low hours.In order to get retail bonus you have to work 250 hours a quarter.for some this is hard to get if you are not one of their favorites.hard to stand long days but low hours..managers that sometimes do not work but just play around.loss of health insurance for many due to lack of hours to maintain coverage.for me publix is basically becoming a no benefit job
