      The benefits make it all worth while.

      Pros

      Flexibility with work schedules and time off. Raises are very consistent. Benefits are amazing and probably the best in grocery retail. Paid training and uniforms are provided. Ability to "float" and learn other departments. People do take pride in their work and it shows.

      Cons

      Managers tend to use your drawer, if their is a shortage you are still to blame.The more you know the more workload you will get. Store closings take forever and could be 2 hours or more.Be prepared to have some lazy co-workers and pick up the slack for them. Management can be good or bad depending on your store. Some are caring and helpful, others disappear when your busy and always find something negative to say.

      good rate of pay clean work environment good hours

      Cons

      no discounts no vacation packages if this is your secondary job then the balance between the two would have to be clear with all supervisory heads.

      Pros

      good benefits for full timers. stock is given every year as well as sick time benefits and six paid holidays.

      Cons

      If your in a slower store often the worse managers are sent there and life can be real hard for someone who is really trying to live the publix mission statement. If you try to do the right thing and expose managers breaking publix rules they don't get in trouble and you get exposed for terrible hours and negative progress evaluations and counseling statements. they don't like to be out shined by subordinates.
