Pros
The starting pay in my position was good, especially as a part timer. I’ve been trained in a lot of new skills, and my coworkers have all been kind and pleasant. The health care plan is really good, and there is a lot of opportunity for advancement in the company, especially in the bakery department.
Cons
The work-life balance is so hard. There are times when I have several shifts that end at 10:30pm and several shifts that starts at 4am in one week. Some shifts are scheduled for 8 hours but they will expect you to be there 10. As a part timer, there have been many times I have worked over 40 hours in a week (especially during holidays) but still will not get the holiday bonus, holiday pay, or any PTO. It’s a very demanding job.
