Pros

Stock shares great perk, Good opportunity to enhance knowledge because of variety of Network systems.

Cons

IS department is very much who you know is where you go, Family integration within the department so guess who get promoted, ratio of minority that work in the department is low (do your research on Lakelands history ethnically speaking. Gey you pay while getting in cause you will never get a raise, unless you are one of the privileged. No work from home offered to IT folks when i was there

Pros

The best thing about working here are the benefits and good working conditions. I would recommend anyone to work here compared to any other grocery store. If you are part time they will try to give you the hours you need if you are a good worker and may even get moved up into fulltime very quickly if you are working hard.

Cons

The cons of working here according to my experience and that of other employees is that it is no secret that it is rare to move up unless you are a minority. You can move up into a management position if you are a YOUNG American man or woman but if you are no longer in your 20's are early 30's it is hard no matter how good you are. A non American has a better chance then you do though of being promoted. Publix is a good old boys club as they say for the most part so if the store you working at has managers that do not like you then you have no chance of moving up. If you are in your 40's and up then you probably have no chance at all. Because of all of this moral is low and a lot of employees that are good at what they do have begun to stop trying. I see a lot of people who have tried to get into management become very angry and frustrated. When you have a company that is not promoting people because they are good but for some other reason then you have a mess on your hands.
