      Pros

      Working as a graduate student at Purdue has been a rewarding experience; I have been given a lot of flexibility and freedom to research topics that are interesting to me, and the professors and staff members are generally friendly and helpful.

      Cons

      Purdue's graduate program is challenging, and the guidance I have received has not always been specific enough. It can be frustrating to be given virtually no instructions, and expected to deliver a product of a high calibre. The pay is also quite low (although adequate as a stipend given the location).

      Fun job, but you only get about 5 hours per week

      Pros

      The work is very easy. I just have to show up to lab once a week and help students with questions. It's enjoyable if you like to watch students learn. Getting to talk to graduate TAs is also fun.

      Cons

      I was only given about five hours per week to work. You can find a better-paying job elsewhere. The labs are sometimes a nightmare since graduate TAs create them, but they are rarely tested to see how long a freshman might take to complete them.
