Pros

It is a good job to have on campus as it doesn't require much time commitment. It helps to strengthen your physics skills and looks good on your resume.

Cons

Job profile is a little boring. Managing labs of students everyday of the week teaching the same material over and over again gets a little monotonous and routine.

Pros

Large community of students, professors and researchers from multiple disciplines. The medical insurance coverage is one the best in the area. The programs in engineering are within the top-10 in the country. A large portion of my job can be done from home so I typically don't spend too much time in the lab. Managers are very flexible with respect to work hours as long as publications and experiment deadlines are met.

Cons

At times the job can be stressing since we have to meet deadlines with respect to writing articles, submitting grant applications and experimental procedures. However, during the summer the waters are quiet.
