Pros

I enjoyed the fast paced environment, and most of my fellow employees whom where there working hard for each other. I personally had the pleasure to work for some good managers, but could not say that for everyone. Benifits were better than average, but are slowly declining.

Cons

If you have a family, and want to be involved in their day to day lives, working in a production department is not for you! This company has been losing billions of dollars as a whole for several years. Along with the print industry's decline (hello digital), moving from a private held company to a publicly traded company has not proven to be a successful decision. It has also turned a family, employee first company into an invester first company. I understand that they are trying to survive and keep the doors open, but they are booting a lot of hard working, innovative people in the process. I believe they should be accessing their upper management, with their ever bloating salaries, to find better ways to save money and keep more of their workforce employeed.

Low pay, and they keep laying off key people

Pros

Great company culture, great health plan (if you live in Wisconsin)

Cons

Salaries for admin staff has not kept up with inflation, especially for an industry that is notoriously cheap. Company is continually closing plants and laying off key employees who are important to it's success. Admin work keeps getting offloaded to cheap labor overseas. They have domestic admin employees training other employees in Poland and Mexico, and then they literally lay off the employees who trained them to do their work once the overseas staff is trained. The Mag/Cat part of the business still drives the bus in this company and they do not understand the Direct Marketing business at all. With their focus on Marketing, they have lost focus on Sales and bringing in new work into the DM division. You cannot generate sales by osmosis only focusing on Marketing. DM sales reps are not competitively compensated compared to their competition. Consequently, the sales force is not robust and there is not much incentive to achieve or sell because the commissions have been dramatically cut.

Pros

Lately, the reasons for are disappearing like Arctic ice. Slowly, but surely.

Cons

Employees are more and more viewed as enemies of the company that need to be **** (insert appropriate term) as much as possible. Lies and politics at the level of the House of Cards show.
