Pros

GMC Software is large enough to give you opportunities to grow - including access to excellent technologies, systems and smart people - but not so big that you can't get to know people and make a difference. It is a great place for people who have big ideas and aren't afraid to implement them. Working with international teams is also a great opportunity to learn and grow as an individual as well.

Cons

Dealing with strong growth means that communicating changes across the organization can sometimes be a challenge, and there is a lot that needs to get done. This is not the right company for someone looking for a 7 hour work day with few new challenges, but managers are flexible on work / life balance requirements.

Pros

Nice enough team members in marketing

Cons

Horrible and toxic culture. Revolving door. Senior management only listen to their favourites and promote them. Was called a 'politician' by a very senior leader when trying to put a point across. Thrown under the bus by VPs several times. Zero respect and value.

Pros

I entered the company with an open mind and a lot of hope, what the company leaders preached in their interviews found online as well as how they communicated their values all sounded amazing. I also had optimistic expectations because of how high the ratings are for this company on Glassdoor. The disappointing reality was, the longer I stayed at the company, the more I realized how extremely micro managing and toxic the culture was at Beanworks. Basically in short, they checked off every single item on a list I found on how you can tell you just joined a business cult. In retrospect I could not believe I did not see it sooner. Now I realized every single person who reviewed positively for this organisation on here has likely been completely brainwashed or “spellbound” to a certain degree by the organisation, which is really sad because some of the employees were genuinely nice and good people. To be absolutely fair, this company made it very hard to not be brainwashed as an employee - the alarming number of required books to read upon onboarding , weekly ritualistic glorifications of overwork and people relinquishing their personal boundaries for the sake of the corporate “family,” required memorisation and public pop quizzes on cultural values and the risk of public humiliation if failed (we all know repetition encourages subordination and indoctrination), daily and weekly micromanaging meetings, “parties” that require mandatory attendance after work hours and on weekends, and this is just to name a few. You don’t need to believe me if you want to go and see for yourself, but just know that you’ve been forewarned. I thank God everyday that he got me out of there before I got entangled any further. I pray for the well-being of the employees who are still there to make the best decision in protection of themselves.

Cons

Lots of unpaid overtime, don’t practice what they preach, cultish corporate practices, do not promote work life balance, the list is too long. This was the worst company I’ve ever had to work at by far. It just goes to show how you cannot always believe everything that is written on Glassdoor, sometimes you need to see for yourself to really know. I’m so grateful I got out once I figured out what was really going on. The overwork was so intense I barely had the energy to think critically and clearly about the brainwashing and cult-like ways they managed this company.

Thank you for your review! I am sorry to hear that you had a bad experience during your employment with Beanworks by Quadient. Being a part of our Beanworks family does come with high expectations, and we like to make work fun and engaging to ensure everyone is aligned in our vision. We pride ourselves on our culture in which all employees live and breathe our values, celebrating our wins and gathering together to build relationships, a strategic system that allows us to achieve great results, and a healthy work-life balance. Managers monitor the workloads within their teams and have weekly 1:1s with all staff, as we do not promote or encourage employees' working excessive overtime and being burnt out. Please feel free to reach out to the People and Culture Manager, Kristen Gameau, if you'd like to provide any more feedback or having ongoing concerns about your employment.
