Pros

Location, San Diego is a great place to work. Diverse work place, many amenitites. Wireless technology leader. The workplace is a very nice place to go, with many buildings and good facilities. They have many good benifits and on paper value the employee.

Cons

Highly political. Promotions and opportunity is not based on sill level but on how you are "liked" by upper management. Very hostile, non-cooperative work evironment. HR is used as a tool for revenge by workers. Employees not working together, no teamwork. The problem is the people. The company is a good company but the bad seeds ruin the work environment.

Pros

The office atmosphere is very nice. Everyone gets an office with a door that closes. The people are generally vital and energetic, and as a result there is a very positive energy throughout the company.

Cons

If you're not in San Diego you are a very 2nd class citizen of the company. Benefits are all keyed to San Diego. Do a good job? Here's a coupon for a spa in San Diego. Oh, you live in Portland? Too bad. But hey, here's a perk... a "passport card" that gets you discounts at 1000s of San Diego area merchants, shops, and restaurants!

Pros

Pretty good company if you want to work at a Fortune 100 company. They love to tout that as a reason to sign on with them. The benefits package is very good as far as healthcare goes. But the stock options are also usually given to new employees. Check the market to see what those are worth.

Cons

Salaries are lower than the rest of the industry. The "you should be glad you work here we're a Fortune 100 company" predominates. Management is completely clueless. They build products and have no idea how to bill for them or if there is even a market for them. Lot's of poor planning resulting in ill defined last minute projects. Your expected to work at least 60 hours a week for weeks on end. As an exempt employee you end up working for near half salary. Look elsewhere unless you like 60+ hour weeks and not seeing your family. The stock options are worthless and the stock hasn't risen in years. Stay out of QUALCOMM Enterprise Services, that business unit is dying on the vine it is just a shrt matter of time before they cut that unit loose to flounder on it's own.
