Pros

You get thrown into managing several small networks. This leads yu to learn a lot of new things. The pay is good for the area.

Cons

Having so many networks to watch over and support can be pretty stressful. Not a great place for people with ADHD or similar disabilities. Benefits aren't great. While the pay is good for the area, it's substantially less than the other businesses of the same kind in that area.

Pros

Decent starting pay compared to a lot of area jobs. Week off twice a year to spend time with family's (not counted as pto). When in doubt you have a safety net of people to help you out. Get the satisfaction of helping schools out that might of had a bad experience with IT people in the past. A very religious, family oriented company.

Cons

Lot of drive time. Start of school is always long hours and stressful ( the reason why we get two weeks off a year for free).

Pros

Company car: they pay for gas and maintenence. This is good because you will spend half you day driving around in a car that always needs something fixed. Blanket PTO: you are given all of your PTO at the outset instead of having to acrue. Good luck getting time off approved though A week off in the summer and Christmas that doesnt count towards that PTO

Cons

The workload is unbearable at times. You will be in charge of serveral school districts at once, all in various degrees of disrepair, and have very little support when you want to get something done or make changes for the good of the district. Late hours in the summer, you will be given work and projects and have no time to get them done during the workday, so be prepared to work past 10pm each night WITH NO OVERTIME in order to make sure everything is working Not everyone held to the same standards: managers looking to throw their weight around will have certain expectations for newer guys on the team, yet management and other techs that have been there 5-10 plus years get to goof off, spend 3 hours getting lunch and breaks, and not follow their own rules when they are actually paying attention to whats going on at a school
