Engineering processes and rigor is missing, and the leadership team has been very slow to develop. The biggest issue is that those in leadership lack the proper industry experience to be effective. This wouldn’t necessarily be a problem if they would listen to those on their team that DO have the right experience. They have not demonstrated their ability to listen and take action. I really feel for the junior engineers that don’t know any better and as a result, aren’t being set up for success in the most crucial part of their career.

If you are an engineer, don't bother even applying. This company is "science led" and doesn't do engineering. You will get crapped on because you are not an ion trapper. I once saw the president of the company give a guy a hard time because he wasn't an ion trapper. Engineering managers are all physicists who failed up. No one knows how to do product development - it is all cut-and-fit on the fly, then wonder why nothing works. You have almost no chance of promotion. For engineers this is a 1 star company.
