Best Job I Ever Had (No exaggeration. I'm the last person to say this usually)
Pros
1) Doesn't matter if you're the smartest person or the least qualified, everyone listens to each other. It takes a little bit of time, but the respect is always there. At least in my department, there is always mutual respect, willingness to listen, and willingness to reach across to really "get" the other person. 2) Pay is very good. My bar might be a little low but I think it's really good compared to other large companies I've worked at 3) Humor is encouraged. People want you to be yourself and are generally very okay with who you are. 4) HR is very attentive. When houses burned down in the area they sent out emergency calls trying to make sure everyone had a roof over their head for the night/resources they needed to weather the storm. 5) The expectation is you get your work done, not that you work 50+ hours or whatever. If you can get it done in less than 40 no one cares. Just get it done. How you do it is your business. No one is looking over your shoulder unless you fail to deliver.
Cons
1) Company is still growing so benefits aren't the best, but still okay. 2) From a technical perspective, sometimes things might get frustrating ie. you see things one way the other person sees things another way. That being said, the discussion will always be open and there is always respect and willingness to see the other side in most cases. 3) Sometimes politics can get in the way of progress. This seems extremely rare and even then it's incredibly mild from what I've seen. 4) IT seems to be very unsupported which in turn, does affect all groups in some way shape or form and starts to bring down productivity/morale.
