Pros
Pays fairly well. The idea of advocating for a member is great. Lots of perks like free snacks, decent benefits, and social events. If you get in with the right people, you make some good friends that can help you move forward in the company.
Cons
If someone doesn't like you, you're screwed. They will find a way to get you fired, even if you do a great job. There will be no performance improvement plan, no disciplinary steps, or second chances. If they want you out, you're done. They will make up stories, troll your social media pages, and throw you under the bus if necessary... and HR will go right along with it, giving no consideration for the other side of the story. They do not care about what this drama does to hard working employees. Two people recently got fired for Facebook posts almost a year old. Another was fired because a manager didn't like her, and made up stories that the employee got in a physical fight at work, which never happened. All three employees were approved for unemployment because their terminations were determined to be unjustified according to the state. A couple of employees even got advice from lawyers stating their terminations were unreasonable. I've heard many more stories, but these are the most recent. If you miss being in high school and want to go back, this job is for you.
