- Career growth is limited and highly dependent on your reporting manager. In my case, I was unfortunate to have a manager who didn’t support development. My former colleague who based in the US also told me that he was just able to move from BD to ISR after 5 years+++. There were plans dedicated for sales team all over the globe to move from their current position, but we heard nothing about that ever since.
- Employee voices are often unheard. Managers may dismiss input &assume team members lack knowledge.
- Poor leadership. My manager was frequently distracted (on the phone watching tiktok live, games) and lacking in addressing team issues, often pushing responsibilities back onto the team instead of escalating or resolving them collaboratively.
- As a vendor, we were rarely aligned with partners to generate leads. Instead, we were expected to cold-call/email outdated contacts, often receiving negative feedback
- Mundane &repetitive tasks. As a BD rep, the role was limited to office work with no exposure to marketing events or direct interaction with partners, resellers, or end users. The work was said more administrative than strategic (this was told by our marketing team).
-Recent KPI changes tied reps to revenue targets, which was a positive shift, but the working style remained unchanged. it is something I didn’t prefer.
- When a teammate resigned, we were told we weren’t eligible to apply for the role, only to see someone hired with less relevant experience & qualifications, yet placed at a higher level.
- the managers seem to treat his role as a pre-retirement plan (lacking the drive to lead/innovate)
Final Thoughts: This company is a good fit if you're looking for stability, a good benefits package & manageable workload. However, if you're ambitious and seeking career growth, leadership support, or dynamic work, it may not be the right place, unless you're lucky with your manager.
