Pros

The work is simple and usually easy. Not much physical demand. Some employee discounts are available that can actually be used by low level employees. Okay job to fill in until you find something else. Many of the problems I encountered and had been told about seem to be isolated in the Breinigsville, PA facility, internally known as the Allentown facility.

Cons

Very weak leadership, most people at supervisor or lead levels have no business being there. They do not have many people in the building that could even step into that role. All retirement options have been taken. Pay scales make no sense, some people make a fortune while others are still receiving food stamps, and no that is not an exaggeration. They claim to be a family but people are receiving "occurrences" against them for having to go to the emergency room for two days?! Forget any ability to move up unless people quit, but even then they hire from outside the company when they have people chomping at the bit to move ahead and are qualified. Raises are at best insulting if you some how receive one. They have been loosing customers to other facilities because of the internal strife going on.

Pros

-Flexible work schedule -Telecommuting options -Pockets of good mid-level managers

Cons

-Company notoriously pays between 0 to 2.5% raises over the last several years. 2013 was 1% increase across the board. 2012 was 0% increase across the board. I can't wait for this year!! <sarcasm> -Upper level management fails to convey future planning to employees. It seems like the employee is kept in the dark about most subjects and are never included in discussions about the future of the company. Unless the employee is part of some clique, it is nearly impossible to get an idea on where the company is headed.

Pros

It is a job that pays industry standard.

Cons

The most punitive and vindictive place I have ever worked. I worked for a printer similar in scope for 17 years before going to work at Donnelley and absolutely nothing could have prepared me for complete lack of decency that I encountered at this company. The position required 10-16 hour days and to be on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. After posting a record amount of work, we were told that because some of the other plants did not post a profit, we were to lose the following: janitorial services, coffee and microwave. In addition, the heat and lights were to be turned down. The plant became a filthy, smelly, disgusting mess.
