Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. It’s great to hear you found the culture relaxed and flexible, that’s something we work hard to maintain for our colleagues. We also appreciate your feedback on career growth. We know progression matters, and we’re continuing to invest in this area. Growth at the RAC can look different for different people. For some, that’s moving into a new role or stepping up through promotion. For others, it’s building new skills through digital learning and development opportunities on our dedicated L&D platform. We encourage open, honest conversations with managers about aspirations and what “progression” looks like for each individual. Alongside that, we’re actively working on improving visibility of career pathways and making it easier for colleagues to explore their next step. Thanks again for sharing your experience- it helps shape how we continue to improve.

Pros

I've been here a year now and I must say, you get real ownership early on if you're willing to take it on. I’ve been trusted to lead on several high-visibility projects within my first year, which has pushed me to grow and develop quickly - much quicker than any other workplace I've been in. It’s a genuinely fast-moving environment and you either can cope with it or it's not for you. Things don’t get stuck, and you can see ideas turn into action, which keeps the work interesting and meaningful, especially in my role. There’s a strong appetite for innovation. You’re encouraged to bring new thinking, test ideas and keep improving rather than sticking to the same approach. The people make a big difference. Even with the pace, colleagues are supportive, approachable and willing to help each other out. There’s a clear sense of purpose around delivering for members, which gives the work context and keeps it grounded.

Cons

It’s fast paced, which is exciting but can also mean you’re moving quickly from one priority to the next without always having the chance to pause and reflect. Because of that pace, it can sometimes feel like there’s limited time to step back, review what’s worked well and build on it before moving forward again.

Thank you for sharing your experience and for your long-standing commitment to the RAC. It's great to hear that you've found the RAC to have a supportive culture, strong team spirit and opportunities to develop new skills throughout your career. Feedback like yours reinforces the importance of creating an environment where colleagues can grow, challenge themselves and feel supported by those around them. We also appreciate your perspective on the pace of the organisation. While the fast-moving nature of the business creates opportunities to learn and make an impact, we recognise it's an environment that suits some people more than others.

Pros

During my four years with the RAC, the biggest impact for me has been how much the business has supported my development. I joined in a fairly focused role as a Recruitment Advisor. Since then I've progressed, taking on broader responsibilities and gaining exposure to different areas of the business. It's really helped me build my confidence, develop new skills and understand the business on a much deeper level. It's felt like a genuine journey where I've been able to keep learning and growing with the right support around me. One of the things I value most is RAC’s commitment to investing in its people. I’ve always felt encouraged to keep developing, take on new challenges, and push myself to improve. It’s reassuring to work somewhere that genuinely wants you to be the best version of yourself. The culture is supportive and collaborative, and I’ve always felt that hard work and potential are recognised. For anyone looking to grow their career in an environment that values development and continuous improvement, I’d definitely recommend RAC.

Cons

With lots of opportunities to get involved across the business, it can at times feel fast paced and balancing priorities can be a challenge

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience, and for the contribution you’ve made over the past few years. It’s great to hear how your role has grown since joining the RAC, and the impact that development and exposure to different areas of the business has had on your confidence and skills. Stories like yours really matter. They show how progression can happen over time with the right support in place. We’re also really pleased to hear how you’ve experienced the culture day to day. Feeling supported, recognised and encouraged to keep learning is something we care about, and it’s good to know that’s come through in your time with us. We appreciate your honest point on pace too. As the business continues to grow, we know balancing priorities can be a challenge at times. It’s something we’re actively working on with teams, so people can make the most of opportunities while still feeling supported in managing their workload. Thanks again for sharing such a thoughtful review, and for being part of the RAC’s journey.
