Pros

Decent wages, good benefits and with a big company there's always room for movement.

Cons

A lot of outsourcing going on, sometimes they seem to plan change just for the sake of planning it and never really think things through. The culture of the bank has changed in the last decade or so which has made this a completely different place to work.

Pros

-If you work hard, don't complain, and are a good team player then you will advance in your career. -Excellent benefits - For example: If both you and your spouse work at RBC then your drugs, medical and dental will be covered 100% most of the time (certain drugs not covered) -Vacation - 11 days to start, after 3 years or promotion to a higher level will garner you 16 vacation days. All the way up to 26 days for Middle Level managers and up or people that have worked for I think 15 years. -Work/Life balance is good, so if you have a doctors appointment, you don't need to book time off (Applies to non-client facing positions) -A variety of different projects that use different skills can be worked on by those who are willing to work hard and have the skills to do so.

Cons

Pay is OK. Not bad, but not great.

Pros

Many career opportunities with the right supportive manager. Your direct manager makes ALL the difference. Good pay in general however not enough pay for expectations.Lots of health benefits. Many financial benefits. Great place for in house courses. Great internal intranet.

Cons

Expectations are too high for some & too low for others. Biased & favortism is present. You can work extra time without pay any time you want but if you need time off it is questioned by management. If your manager does not like you do not expect a good annual bonus. The amount is determined by your direct manager. Not enough reward & recognition. Some people get more time off than other for bereavement-depends on manager's discretion. Many things are manager's discretion which is unfair alot of the time.
