Used to make decent money, now not so much

☛ No set schedule for the most part ☛ At first I was making decent money ☛ Get paid every week ☛ They're good about giving you time off when you request it ☛ If you refer someone and they're hired, you get paid for it
Cons
☛ It seems like you either have too many jobs, or not enough. There's no in between. ☛ If you live in a somewhat smaller town, you will likely have to drive a long distance for some/most of your jobs. ☛ Some jobs are "undercover", meaning the store doesn't know you're in there working for RetailData. For example Costco: they do reimburse you for the cost of the membership, but for a "full book" job you have to go in there, scan barcodes and collect prices on hundreds of items, but not look suspicious or let the employees know what you're doing. It's impossible. I have been approached by loss prevention and management multiple times, and a few times they've been very rude. I hate confrontation and now I get extremely anxious the entire time I'm in there, it would be so much better if RetailData worked out an arrangement with Costco so they know we'll be in their stores and why (like they do with most other stores). ☛ You will never be able to decipher your paychecks. Each job pays differently: some pay per item, some are a flat rate, and I think we're supposed to be paid $12 an hour no matter what but I'm honestly not sure. Often my paychecks make no sense. I used to make like $350-$400 a week and I consistently had more jobs each week, but now my schedule is extremely inconsistent and my pay is often less than expected. They tell you that the faster you work, the more money you'll make, but that is a straight up lie. You're getting paid a set rate per item for that job, regardless of how fast you do it, and if that works out to less than $12 an hour then they'll make up the difference. So in reality, the faster you go, the less you'll make. ☛ There's no paid time off. ☛ When I first started we used two different scanners, and they both worked well to scan barcodes. Then after a while they made an app for your phone, and they had us ship back our scanners. I have one of the iPhones with 3 camera lenses, and for me the barcode scanner in the app SUCKS. It takes forever to focus, and it adds so much time on to a job. Luckily I was able to get one of the scanners sent back to me recently, but before that it was awful.
