Pros

Fun to work with and pleasant atmosphere.

Cons

No benefits and no paid time off because I was an independent contractor.

Pros

The commission structure is the best in the business. Although an agent must be producing at least 2 million annually to make it profitable and to make a decent income. The broker/owner is the absolute best. The door is always open and every question gets answered. Flexibility to make your own schedule and time off. When you don't want to work, you don't have too.

Cons

If you are not selling real estate the monthly bill can be a problem. The agent gets absolutely no benfits, insurance, profit sharing etc. because you are an independent contractor. The agent also pays for everything related to the total office expenses which are divided between all agents.

Pros

Great people, information sharing, colleagues and opportunities. All agents and franchisees are independently owned and operated. If you are thinking of working for REMAX that means you have to look behind the front image of the company and get to know the individul office, colleagues and opportunities since they may vary a lot from office to office and even from one agent to another. But the company is very, very open to information to candidates who are interested in working in real estate or owning a franchise. Talk to the people, look for the ones who are successful and choose to work with the ones that you like. If you are hard-working and capable of thinking "out-of-the box" RE/MAX is the right place

Cons

Since it's franchised it is at times very disorganized / decentralised. You have to create your own network. There are many, many successful people to work with but sometimes you find yourself in the middle of some naggers and then it's time for you to make a decision who you want your peers to be. If you are not pro-active this is not the company for you.
