Pros

The people, culture, benefits, and industry are all fantastic. Everyone is super supportive and welcoming from day 1. Management is approachable and seems fair. The stocked kitchen of free food & drinks, happy hour Fridays, and game room are all really nice perks. ROI is growing really quickly and have brought in a ton on bright young kids right out of college. As a result, it's been a really easy transition to the workforce from school. If you're interested in joining an up and coming company in one of the fastest growing industries, then ROI could be right for you.

Cons

The base pay feels low. But for now, the positives of working here make up for it.

Pros

I have been very impressed with ROI since I started working here. I feel like I work with a lot of really smart and talented people, and I am getting A TON of experience working alongside them. The CEO and VP of Operations also hold open office hours at the end of every single work day. I have never worked anywhere with the opportunity to bring my ideas directly to someone at their level – it’s been a great learning experience being able to go straight to them for their feedback. Plenty of people have mentioned the other awesome perks – a fully-stocked kitchen, company sponsored team builders, catered Friday lunches, and a gorgeous new office with a fitness center, game room, stand-up desks, and anything else you’d want in an office space as an employee. I really feel like these things exist because the upper level management cares about us as employees and our experience here. Take the kitchen, for example. A fully stocked kitchen doesn’t just mean free breakfast – it means crossing paths each morning with people outside of your team. I have made a lot of friends at work beyond my desk space thanks to this perk. In regards to flexibility, bench-marking earlier this year has gotten us an additional day of PTO, 2 sick days on top of that, a monthly work from home day, and improved parental leave benefits. Good luck topping that somewhere else in RTP. Seriously, when your HR/management team encourages you to use up your sick time (even for a mental health day), they clearly care about your well-being and work/life balance. Flexibility aside, I also have the best health benefits that I’ve had to date.

Cons

- Could definitely use some more diversity (of all kinds) among employees - There has been a lot of change in the past year, which is always hard (it seems like the bulk of it is behind us now, and I’m looking forward to having that dust settle) - A handful of entitled, toxic employees (if you’re provided a fully-stocked kitchen and are complaining about your favorite cereal not being on the shelf, you should probably reevaluate your priorities) - Employees who lack perspective (personally, I have several other workplaces to compare ROI to, and I feel really lucky to be here. I guarantee that if some of our more inexperienced employees had a glimpse of the world out there, they’d be a little more appreciative)
