Pros

Every other department I interacted with was professional, friendly, and welcoming. My experience outside the procurement department was overwhelmingly positive, and the leadership in those areas appeared to foster a supportive and professional work environment.

Cons

In my experience, this was the most unprofessional and uncomfortable procurement environment I have worked in. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution others considering this role at this location. From the beginning, the onboarding and training process lacked structure and consistency. Expectations were not clearly defined, yet performance feedback was frequent and consistently negative. This made it difficult to understand what successful performance actually looked like or how to improve. When I asked how performance in the role was measured, I was told it was not really quantifiable. In my experience, procurement roles typically have measurable outputs or clearly defined performance expectations. The absence of objective metrics made the feedback feel largely subjective and difficult to act on during probation. Support for questions and learning was also inconsistent. I was instructed to route all questions through management, but responses were not always available or constructive. Over time, this created an environment where asking questions felt discouraged, making the learning process more stressful than it needed to be. My six-week probation evaluation also reflected inconsistencies. It acknowledged that training time had been limited and that I had not had sufficient opportunity to demonstrate certain skills, while simultaneously concluding that my performance did not meet expectations. Overall, I would not recommend this role based on my experience. The onboarding and probation process felt unclear, inconsistent, and not supportive of new hires who were genuinely trying to learn and succeed.
