Pros

Unique business model, you want to work in IT and live in San Antonio, pockets of really good people

Cons

They are very cheap about everything (salaries, equipment, office space, etc), the management about the people who actually do the work stinks, communication from upper management often is filled with lies and half truths, they are trying to offshore more and more stuff to India (especially software development), because they are cheap on salaries they often end up with people in positions they shouldn't be in (you scrape the bottom of the barrel and you often end up with bad employees), too many nontechnical people in technical positions, not enough strong technical people

Pros

30 days leave a year Good games room Good team outings

Cons

managers - they do not have a clue I have tried to get changes pushed though that will benefit techs and account managers though there is so much red tape. Additional the support side of things are not compensated or appreciated as much as the sales side of the company

Pros

Liberal Work Ethic. Laid back casual environment. Most of the lower level management are great to workers. Great place to learn technical skills.

Cons

Rackspace has gotten to large and has lost its small company feel. Personal concern about front line employees is lacking. Stock options handed out to long time employees is a joke compared to other companies. Bonus structure is a joke, and is used to justify lower base salaries by recruiting. Rackspace seems more concerned with hiring to many non productive VP level management than productive employees. Technical support staff is underpaid compared to national averages.
