Pros

They make great investments in training and certs, and try to hold on to the culture that took them to the "Best Places to Work" surveys

Cons

Several pivots in strategy still haven't improved the overall outlook.

Pros

By far the best reason to become a Racker is the caliber of people you work with every day. This place has been able to bring in people that truly care about each other and aren't afraid to show it. If you thrive in a dynamic environment where change is expected you will succeed at Rackspace. This company is always evolving to better serve customers and you need to be highly adaptable to do well.

Cons

This company is always evolving, so if you don't do well with change then this company will not be a good fit for you. I have been with Rackspace for almost 3 years and I've had 6 managers without changing jobs or departments. There is a lack of procedures and processes that one might expect with a company of this size and age but in the time I've been here many standardizations have occurred and more are forthcoming.

Pros

The gym, food trucks, parking. The fact that it's a great place to start if you are young and inexperienced.

Cons

It's like High school all over again. Are you popular? The term they use is "Brand". At RS it isn't about work only. Unfortunately it's about how popular you can be. The pay is way less than what's expected. This company will take up so much of your life. Work and life balance... nah. More like the RS 20. That means the 20 extra pounds you put on because you are so overworked and your goals are so high you eat at the food trucks to save time so you can work longer. They offer a gym , laundry service and even get a massage there. Why? Because there is no work life balance. Sure the building is nice but how often do you leave your area? The interview process is ridiculous. There are so many managers of managers and you have so many different people to answer to. My manager had no experience and was mentally abusive. When I tried to discuss with HR all of a sudden I was on a plan. HR was the worst team to deal with. They manipulate the situation so they can fire you by giving you a small amount of cash so you can't get unemployment. RS has a legal team that is in the building. Lets just say they make sure you getcscrewed. When I joined RS I took a huge pay cut because I thought it would be worth it. To my bewilderment that seems to be everyone's story . Oh you have to start somewhere. Well even when you get a promotion you are still underpaid, I guess that free gym and free sodas weren't free after all ??
