Radio Flyer Intern Program

Pros

Radio Flyer's renowned culture is unique in so many ways. This is a company that genuinely cares about the well-being and happiness of all employees. Even as an intern at Radio Flyer, I was immediately welcomed into the Flyer Family and shown that all of my opinions and ideas truly matter. The projects that I was able to complete had immediate and significant impacts on the day-to-day operations of the company, so it was an amazing feeling to have such meaningful work. Additionally, I was given hands-on educational opportunities to apply everything that I have learned in the classroom. I would highly recommend the Radio Flyer Intern Program to all undergraduate and graduate students - across all fields of study. The fun culture of the company and the opportunities for development far exceeded all of my expectations!

Cons

Radio Flyer is a very fast-paced environment, so I was a little overwhelmed at first. However, it provided the challenge and learning experience that I was looking for in an internship. The coaching provided by Radio Flyer managers in all departments is phenomenal; this helped me to quickly adapt to the environment and be successful in my role!

Employees are given many outlets to share and implement ideas and can feel like they are really contributing to the bottom line of the business. - The company makes sure that accomplishments (professional and personal) are recognized and celebrated! -Radio Flyer is constantly innovating and creating new products which makes every day exciting. Employees are always challenged but supported when managing new projects.

Pros

Spend just one day in the Radio Flyer office, and you will see why the company is consistently ranked as a ‘Great Place To Work.’ The goals of the company are clear and transparent, and I understand how my role impacts the rest of the company. It encourages me to come into work and be the best version of myself every day. Radio Flyer has a multitude of opportunities that promote a positive work-life balance. These include paid volunteer days, wellness competitions, summer Fridays, and more. Having started as an intern and eventually moving up to become a full-time Flyer, I can’t (and don’t want to) imagine working anywhere else!

Cons

Not working in downtown Chicago definitely has its drawbacks. That being said, our office space is spacious and beautiful. Parking is free for all Flyers and public transportation to the office is easy too!
