Great place to work with opportunity to learn a broad set of skills

Pros

RF is a small place to work (around 60 employees) so it's a great place to get exposure to lots of different departments. It's a very flat organization so you are able to interface directly with EVP's and the CEO regularly. The schedules are flexible, with daily flex time and summer hours - on top of ample vacation, floating holidays, and even paid time off to volunteer (2 days per year). They offer profit sharing, 401k match, bonuses, and competitive salaries. When you perform well, the opportunity to get promoted is there. The CEO is very caring, and drives a very respectful culture. It's a young work force at Radio Flyer, and a very fun place to work.

Cons

Since it's a small company, there's not a ton of 'title' growth that goes on. You have the opportunity to do lots of training (RF really supports its employees' continuing education - both internally at "Wagon U" and externally through conferences and other classes) and get exposure to lots of business scenarios that you never would at a larger company. At the same time, there isn't a ton of turnover and the senior management team is well established.

Pros

Great brand with amazing coworkers. Size of company and scale of operations meant you got to work on huge projects often. Lots of trust to make decisions.

Cons

Small team sizes left lots of work per person, but allowed for bigger projects for each. Bad financial outlook led to layoffs of 30% of company, which affected my role.

Pros

-The people! I felt so supported by the entire group of Flyers while at Radio Flyer. This included my team, senior management and the relationships that were fostered by working across departments and on committees. -The focus on personal and career development. The time spent learning about yourself, your strengths, how you collaborate on a team, how to work with your manager, understanding the business, etc... was lengthy and invaluable. The learnings promoted better habits, behaviors and relationships inside and outside the office. -We had so much fun! When your mission is to create warm memories and make kids and families smile, what could create a better work environment!? We all individually knew how we impacted this mission and what goals we needed to achieve to do our part as a team. Radio Flyer was transparent, and I always knew how my day to day impacted the bottom line.

Cons

-Expectations on performance is high. Feedback is delivered quickly and directly, which for me was refreshing. Employees should be prepared to be held accountable. This work environment was rewarding and meant we discussed mistakes, learned from them and quickly continued the work.
