We understand your observation regarding the changes in office culture based on location and project work. Different offices may indeed have unique dynamics influenced by the employees who are based in a particular office. The employee’s projects, their practice, the number of employees in a particular office, etc. all influence those dynamics. However, our overarching goal is to foster a positive and inclusive culture across all offices, and we continuously strive to improve in this area. Regarding the issue you raised about pay discrepancies across the firm, I understand your perspective and want to provide some clarity on our compensation structure. At Raftelis, we are committed to fairness and equity in all aspects of employment, including compensation. It's important to note that if there are differences, it may stem from various factors, including an employee's unique skill set, level of experience, education, and location. Our compensation policy is designed to ensure that everyone is fairly rewarded for their contributions and aligned with market standards.       Excellent company that provides excellent opportunities to help clients

      Pros

      Raftelis is group of smart and dedicated people who are driven to provide the best services we can to our clients - which are typically local governments and public utilities providing services (water, wasetwater, stormwater and other services) to the customers. Raftelis has supported me and provided opportunities in my areas of expertise and allowed me to get involved in other areas to continue to grow as a professional. Some may view this as a con - but I view this as a pro - with Raftelis working on cultural improvement and internal communication constantly. Being a consulting firm that has employees coast to coast providing services to over 600 clients on an annual basis - it is difficult to provide the same level of communication and inclusion for employees that are in an office - vs - employees that are remote and not in an office. "Including" those remote employees is a challenge that is recognized and I am proud that Raftelis working on improving opportunities such for these employees.

      Cons

      There could be better processes for employees to understand current projects - or cross-department collaboration (e.g. cross-selling - cross-functional teaming)

      An authentic and Passionate Company

      1. Authentic and Inspiring Company Culture: Raftelis stands out for the authenticity and passion exhibited by every individual. The culture is not just remarkable but genuinely inspiring, fostering a supportive environment with minimal office politics. 2. Small yet Favorable Work Environment: Despite being the smallest employer I've worked for, with around 200 employees, Raftelis has become my favorite workplace. The company's size creates a close-knit community where everyone takes pride in contributing to meaningful work. 3. Satisfaction in Specialized Work: While the work at Raftelis is specialized, it brings immeasurable satisfaction. The niche nature of our work creates a unique sense of reward, making it a fulfilling place to build a career. 4. Long-term Career Prospects: Raftelis offers the potential for a long-term, fulfilling career. I can foresee myself being an integral part of this company for the foreseeable future and possibly for the entirety of my career due to the positive environment and impactful work.

      Cons

      I would not consider these cons, but rather things to consider for those interested in joining the company: 1. Company Size: Raftelis, as a rapidly expanding company, presents a blend of advantages and challenges due to its size. While the flexibility in the approach distinguishes it from larger firms, the size also brings both opportunities and complexities that might impact work dynamics and efficiencies. 2. Varying Office Sizes: The company's different office locations vary in size and environment. Some offices, like the branch I report out of, can be notably small, with at most four employees going into the office on any given day. This setting, while providing a closer-knit group with a great office environment, might not suit individuals who thrive in larger, more socially active settings. Other office locations such as our headquarters in North Carolina would be more accommodative to such individuals. 3. Niche Work: While the passion for the services offered is evident among employees, it's essential that prospective applicants should conduct thorough research into the industry and the specific role they're applying for at Raftelis to ensure it aligns with their interests and career goals.
