Pros

It's nice to work at a firm that enjoys an excellent reputation in the community, yet also conducts itself like a "family" business. RailPros is experiencing a huge growth spurt and opportunities here are limitless. Technology is top-notch and senior management actively encourages and rewards innovation and creative problem-solving. No micro-management, and the teams work well together. Overtime is paid for most staff - some staff work long hours, but not as much as other places I've seen. Junior staff are encouraged to attend networking events!

Cons

You will definitely blow your diet here with all the lunches and free goodies in the kitchen.

Pros

Depending on what office you are based out of, there is a lot of WFH flexibility, and many times your direct manager/supervisor is not based out of the same location so if you like to work alone without people in charge breathing down your neck in person, this is a good perk. This depends on where you're based though. Other than that, there is nothing positive about working here.

Cons

-Expanding way too quickly without infrastructure and processes in place for expansion. -Upper management has no idea how to manage. They are so out of touch with every level....even with eachother! -Management doesn't understand how to effectively manage in any way. It's like they missed the day at school where they taught you how to effectively manage others while treating them with respect or taking the time to understand.....anything. -Poor working culture. Work is done almost completely virtually with 95% of employees keeping their camera off 100% of the time. (This includes during performance reviews). Also, a firm's personality is usually formed from the top down and the CEO has none. Not a lot of fun is happening at RailPros. -Selling of capabilities and services is required by every employee, even though very few understand them. There is a scare culture preventing everyone from admitting they don't understand the capabilities or asking questions for clarification. -Oboarding is a joke. Zero training outside of the standard IT security training every company does. This is more than being thrown into the deep end. This is a fundamental lack of training for every position's expectations and what the rules and processes are for meeting those expectations. -Everything is done in silos. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. Your mid-to-lower-level employee is kept in the dark and even upper-level staff and management don't know what other departments are doing. Everyone at every level is finding out huge company changes in real-time during meetings and by accident. -Lots of "office politics" and s**t-talking about each other. There is a lot of being "nice to someone's face" while talking about them behind their back or even reporting to higher-ups about totally subjective things. You gotta watch your back and keep your eyes open here.
