A temporary job to get into the industry perhaps
Pros
I worked in the London office and the people are mostly really decent and there a fun atmosphere. The sales manager is really down to earth. The company owner is a super charismatic and fun guy to have around.
Cons
Management is to hierarchical for such a small company and the commission scheme is ridiculously complicated and terrible. At YLG the workload is crazy and I was inevitably working overtime most days for no reward or praise and the commission pay is lower than any other company in the industry, they even pay travel agents more than they pay their own staff. You are constantly told to up-sell and pressure people into buying quickly which is because they over charge massively on everything, essentially ripping people right off and then being told to lie about it which sucks because the customer demographic is all old people so you'll feel like a bad person thats getting paid enough commission for your sins to buy a beer or two, not even enough to forget how miserable you are at your job! Theres also this weird love of sacking people, people quit a lot too, which management explain is very normal which it really isn't.
