Pros

The people are amazing to work with. They have an outstanding culture and have a work hard play harder mentality. They try to bring in little perks to brighten your day. Also offered great benefits and several fun parties throughout the year.

Cons

It felt as if career growth was almost non existent. Went several years without a raise or promotion, however was expected to take on more responsibilities. Work and home life separation especially around the holidays was very poor. Spent may nights and weekends working.

Pros

The people in Brighton are among the best I have ever worked with - smart, capable, motivated. There are many others across the business who are likewise good at what they do and great to work with. Our previous CEO Stuart Simms was brilliant (so of course they threw him overboard).

Cons

The execs of Rakuten Global apparently think it's a good idea to change up the RM CEO every year, throw out a whole year of strategy and culture building and just start cutting jobs because they have no clear vision for what they want and no creativity when it comes to managing budgets other than to throw peoples' lives into chaos. I was warned before I joined that Rakuten Marketing has a bad reputation for constant redundancies and muddled mismanagement, and my experience has borne this out. The new CEO Nick Stamos inspires little more than for people to update their CVs.

Pros

Health benefits, free lunches, gym, unlimited PTO, some really smart, great people

Cons

The list is endless...First, the lack of leadership. Upper management was never there as they were trying to find a way to exit. Middle management was horrendous and incompetent. They didn't know how to manage nor display any real leadership capabilities. They had no direction and little to no idea of what they were doing. Communication was nonexistent throughout the company and there was three different cultures. Each group was insulated, distinct and operated independently. There was not much team cohesion. So, depending on which group you were part of, you could have a very different experience. Slice emphasizes its great culture. Well, now that it's been acquired and most of the people that made that culture "great" left, there isn't much culture. What's left is the leftovers and the stains that couldn't be washed away (and I am only speaking about the managers/leadership). Bottom line - don't work here!
