Chaotic startup in the web3 space that can be fun for some

Pros

- Really nice people / low ego team in most cases that really wanted to help each other - Opportunity to work in the dynamic crypto / web3 space - Great and useful product that made it super easy for everyday users to buy/sell crypto, but one that the team needs to keep innovating on to keep up with competitors that ship new features faster - On the whole, respectful of work-life balance after work hours despite everyone being very busy - No BS attitude where folks were very much encouraged to give very honest and direct feedback to anyone in the organisation including management

Cons

- Having worked at multiple startups, this one felt quite needlessly and overly chaotic most of the time relative to similar companies...but some people like that kind of setup - Leadership made decisions in a closed shop and there was so much backtracking and scrapping of plans / strategy because it hadn't been diligenced properly in the first place. Felt like company was falling behind competitors and struggling with the strategy on how to compete - Many in the senior management team had no prior experience in the crypto industry and how things work there which was not helpful to the above (also similar can be said about the non-crypto VC investors who backed the company and perhaps put a lot of pressure on the management team to work to more traditional tech business targets) - Work lifespan of employees in some teams was very short and some felt expendable (eg almost the whole Commercial team turned over in the space of less than a year), and there were several unexpected cuts in the past which impacted on morale within the team significantly - Below industry level pay in the web3 space - Push for in-office work culture that might not work for everyone

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. We appreciate your perspective and the time you’ve taken to highlight both challenges and areas for improvement. We recognise that the fast-paced nature of startups can sometimes feel chaotic, and we are working to bring greater structure and diligence to our decision-making processes to ensure we remain competitive and focused. We understand concerns around employee turnover and past changes that may have affected morale. We are actively working to build a culture of stability, transparency, and mutual respect, where every team member feels valued and supported. Regarding compensation, we regularly review our pay structures to remain competitive within the industry while balancing the needs of the business. We appreciate your feedback on our in-office culture as well. While we strive to foster collaboration and connection, we understand this setup may not suit everyone and are continuously evaluating how to best support all team members.

Pros

- Operate in a cutting-edge industry with diverse challenges that keep the job interesting. - High level of ownership encourages personal growth and professional advancement. - Ability to implement your vision and ideas with the support of data. - A culture of trust allows us to take initiative and make impactful decisions. - Fast-paced environment encourages continuous learning and adaptation to new trends and treasury/finance technologies.

Cons

- Requires knowledge from various fields, which can be overwhelming for newcomers. - The need for extreme ownership may be stressful for some individuals. - The need to be in the office three times a week may not suit those preferring remote work flexibility. - Constantly evolving environment demands rapid learning and adaptation, which can be challenging.

Thank you for leaving your review—we appreciate your feedback! We agree- working in a constantly evolving industry requires our Rampers to "embrace the unknown," one of our core company values!

Pros

They hire great talent with no egos. The vibe across their offices are friendly and relaxed with c-suite remaining approachable at all times. With the size of the company and a caring people team, your thoughts are always welcomed and heard, with regular check ups. Expect all the usual perks of a start up (free meals, flexible working arrangements etc).

Cons

Operating in a dynamic industry which invites uncertainty and frequent change. In a commission based role this has an increased impact on your OTE.

Thank you for leaving your review – we agree! As a fast-paced, dynamic startup, we rely on our fellow Ramper's to act with both pace and precision, while also embracing the unknown (two of our company values!) We are also continuously seeking ways to develop our team, particularly in people management. We've implemented several initiatives to improve communication between leaders and their teams.
